About project
„Assistance as a lifestyle” was an event organized by Asistence o.p.s and the Václav Havel Library. The main goal of Asistence o.p.s. is to help disabled people in Prague become free and independent through individual assistance and social rehabilitation. The organization helps about 250 people who suffer from physical or combined disability. Besides individual assistance, Asistence o.p.s. focuses on the everyday environment, and its long-term mission is to eliminate the barriers people with disabilities face in daily life. The Václav Havel Library focuses on people, events, and phenomena related to the legacy of Václav Havel and topics linked with prosperous civil society. The organizations cooperated to create an event where disabled people and their assistants could talk openly about the physical and social barriers they encounter.
Technical solution
The event took place at the Václav Havel Library, Prague, so it was important to select a camera best suited to the indoor setting and the high-quality audio requirements. The AXIS V5915 camera was chosen because its settings are optimized to produce video with high-color fidelity in a studio environment. This camera also features an open interface that makes it easy to integrate with other systems. The audio track from the mixing console was connected via a wireless RODELink Filmmaker Audio System. The embedded CamStreamer application enabled high-quality streaming for viewers on Facebook.
Conclusion
The event was a success both among guests and online viewers. The AXIS camera with the embedded CamStreamer app generated a top-quality live stream that attracted thousands of Facebook users: 6,600 in total. Not only was the live stream among the most-viewed in the history of the Václav Havel Library Facebook page, it also received many positive reactions and enjoyed a high level of viewer engagement.
